Employee Spotlight

Our latest employee spotlight at #SignEffectz is Amanda Otto, our newly onboarded Graphic Designer. Amanda brings a wealth of experience to our team. She initially ventured into the signage industry as an intern for Poblocki Sign Company back in 2010, during her senior year at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. While at Poblocki, Amanda primarily focused on designing conceptual drawings and contributed to the rebranding efforts for Associated Bank and the YMCA. She transitioned to Jones Signs, working predominantly on national accounts like Lane Bryant, Lululemon, Sephora, and Autozone.

Family First

Amanda temporarily stepped away from her career to dedicate her time to raising her four children: Thien (19), Quora (9), Olivia (6), and Saoirse (4).

Employee Spotlight: Amanda Otto

Thien, her oldest, recently successfully completed basic training and SOI in the Marines and is currently pursuing his education at Marquette. Meanwhile, her youngest three are in school in their hometown of Hartford.

A year and a half ago, Amanda re-entered the sign industry, taking a position at Signs & Lines by Stretch. In her Graphic Designer role there, she focused on Conceptual and Production Design.

Embracing Change

Amanda loves a challenge in every stage of her career. In her infancy in the signage industry, her primary challenge was transforming artwork provided by marketing firms into production-ready designs. To tackle this, she drew upon her foundational technical skills from her college education, leveraged her prior experience in printing and press work, and conducted extensive research on various products and processes to successfully complete the tasks at hand. Her creativity to adapt to change is a quality that #SignEffectz values in its employees.

Outside of her passion for the sign industry, she manages her own craft business. Amanda makes various paper sculptures that have been featured on the Vampire Diaries TV show and on the pages of Country Living Magazine! She loves to bake, knit, and crochet in the midst of keeping up with four children. We are thrilled to welcome her as part of our #SignEffectz team!
