Employee Spotlight: Nathan Switalski

Current role: Sign Installation Technician

Previous employment: After serving two and a half years in the United States Navy in parts of the world like Northern Africa, Albania and Italy, Nathan became a carpenter apprentice. From there, Nathan decided it was time for a different trade and joined the Sign Effectz sign installation team.

What makes a great sign according to Nathan: I think different shapes are eye-catching. Anything that isn’t just a basic square shaped sign. We recently installed the very cool power up ring at a Dave & Buster’s location in Green Bay. Locally, the sign we installed at the new Improv comedy club in Brookfield, Wisconsin makes great use of shapes as well as attention-grabbing color.

Nathan’s favorite part about working at Sign Effectz: Everyone I work with here. My co-workers are super friendly and help you learn a lot about each aspect of sign installation. Working in the sign industry is a real eye opener. You get to realize that there is so much more that goes into creating a sign. Wiring, surveying, etc. you just don’t see it unless you’re in it.

His hobbies: I’m into hunting and fishing. Lake Michigan is a great natural resource. Green Bay. Racine. And ly fishing is one of my favorites, especially in the western part of Wisconsin. Areas like Plumb Creek have a very good population of wild native brook trout.
