At Sign Effectz, we’ve always believed there’s a difference between simply doing business in a community and actually being part of it. For us, supporting Veterans in Milwaukee comes naturally to us.

Veterans. Active military. Police officers. Firefighters. First responders. These are the people who step forward when others step back. They carry responsibility most people never fully see, and they do it because they believe in something bigger than themselves. That mindset deserves respect.

That philosophy has become part of our company culture over the years, and it’s one of the biggest reasons the Ride For Veterans means so much to us.

The Ride Is Bigger Than Motorcycles

The more Veterans we met, the more stories we heard, and the more we learned about the realities many of them face after service, the more  committed we became to helping however we could.

That’s why Veterans Community Project resonates with us so strongly and why we ride each year. Their work is practical, compassionate and effective.

With their tiny homes village now officially underway in Milwaukee, VCP is building a support system around Veterans through wraparound services like mental health support, job assistance, financial guidance, and community connection.

This Mindset Has Always Been Part of Sign Effectz

Long before the Ride For Veterans existed, our company had a deep appreciation for public servants. Part of that comes from my own family.

My father served as a Milwaukee police officer for more than 30 years, so respect for law enforcement and first responders was something I grew up around. I saw firsthand the commitment that career requires.

That perspective stays with you. It’s why custom sign projects tied to public service have always meant something extra to our team.

One that stands out is the large Milwaukee Police Department badge sign we built and installed on the downtown police administration building years ago. It wasn’t just another sign project to us. It represented something bigger than fabrication and installation. It represented pride in the people who serve this city every day.

This year, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department will help escort the ride, which says a lot about the kind of support and unity this event continues to build throughout southeastern Wisconsin.

Supporting Veterans in Milwaukee

At the end of the day, signs are what we make. But people are why we do it.

We believe businesses should stand for something beyond the services they provide, and for us, supporting those who serve others has always felt like the right place to invest our time and energy.

Veterans Community Project is a reflection of those values in action. Their mission aligns with who we are as a company because it’s rooted in respect, accountability, service, and community—principles that matter deeply to our team.
