When the owners of Palermo Villa updated the look of their restaurant and re-launched it under a new name, they came to us with the job of updating their exterior building signage. Chief among the requirements was a new neon sign to give it a retro look.
We are especially proud of the team’s efforts on this sign as it received the Third Place award in ISA’s International Sign Contest, which recognizes design excellence in a number of categories including electric building signs. Way to go team!!
Our team developed several design concepts for the customer to consider. The one they chose was airy and bright with a great deal of unique character, featuring a wine bottle and two glasses. The highly visible sign consists of fully fabricated aluminum with exposed neon to highlight the bottle and glasses. The restaurant name features LED channel letters. They’re backlit for a bright, but warm halo effect at night.
During daylight hours, folks in the area can really appreciate the craftsmanship of the copper finish background behind the lettering. Overall dimensions of the sign are 4’ wide and just about 8’ tall.
Besides providing the sign design, fabrication and installation, we also helped the owners with permitting and local approvals. The end result is an award-winning exterior building sign with a highly visible and unique look that helps promote this re-launched restaurant!
